Services: Commission Work Reviews
I really enjoy commission work. I have done many commissions in the last five years for law firms, medical offices, schools and individuals. I find the commission process exhilarating. It involves working with clients and really listening to what they want, figuring out appropriate sizes, shapes and colors, and designing a piece that both I and the client can fall in love with.

Some Recent Commissions:
"Spiralling Blues" for Ellen Boshkoff's law office in Indianapolis, IN. She wanted an abstract piece in blues that didn't "look like a quilt".
"Moose in Autumn" for Bob Baker's vacation home in New Hampshire. He wanted a realistic scene that featured the beaver pond on his land and the moose that frequent it. He took photos of his pond and I designed the piece around them.
"Under the Sea" for the law firm of Baker, O'Sullivan & Bliss, P.C. in Wethersfield, CT. They wanted a large piece for a turn in the hallway. "Under the Sea" is made completely from fabrics that I dyed myself. It features long twisted tucks of fabric that are three-dimensional. Depending upon from which end of the hallway you approach the piece, you see a different color dark blue or olive green.
"Summer by the Lake" for the psychotherapy offices of Nicolette Banbury in Marlborough, CT. She works with troubled children and she wanted the piece to show families having a happy time together. It was important to her that the children be playing in the sand, since her therapy methods center on sand-table therapy children talk to her as they act out imaginary play using archetypal toys in a sand table. Her home is on Marlborough Lake, so I set the scene there.
